Alumni

What is this site?
This is the Hunter Huss High School’s “official, yet unofficial” web page, where former/current students, faculty, staff and friends of the high school may renew past friendships, organize reunions, or just say a quick hello. Obviously, this is a commercial (.com) driven website and eventually this site will accept financial contributions to continue to offer the service we provide, but for now, we are striving to become the official website to one of, if not, the BEST high school in Gastonia, NC - Hunter Huss High Schools (HHHS).

What can you do here?
Currently, you may see the e-mail addresses of other contributors, and comments made to the site; of whom have permitted use in this site. You may also post and/or read information about upcoming reunions, events and send messages to other site users. You may also view online images from reunions, current/past school events, and possible submitted classmate pictures for inclusion in our “alumni” efforts.

Why not just go to Classmates or Reunion.com or another major high school alumni website?
This site is not designed to compete directly with Classmates.com or other major alumni sites that host multiple schools and/or organizations, but is an attempt to bring this alumni and reuniting idea to a smaller, local, and more personal level. A level designed and developed by actual alumni from the high school. This site serves Hunter Huss High School only, and is being made available to you as an avenue to reconnect with the school, teachers, and fellow classmates through private contributions/ donations and volunteers. Typically, in order to actually be able to communicate with your classmates on the “other” sites, you must first pay a registration fee; an outrageous fee if we must say so. Hopefully, you will find that this site supplements other resources available to you.

Why was this site created?
Several reasons in no particular order, but primarily we wanted to give something back to our community and to the high school in particular. We have some fond memories and met some of our closest and dearest friends at Hunter Huss, and we dedicate this work to them.

What are the future plans for this site?
There are lots of possibilities, but all of these will be subject to the response we receive and the funding we can generate, if any. At the present, Brad Huss has self-funded the entire registration and web hosting associated with the HunterHussHuskies.com website. He has been the motivation behind the use of this website and the promotion to alumni and friends of HHHS and organized reunion committees. He is currently allowing Danny McBee to make use of the website and post content to the site, and both bear the responsibility for the posted content. David Noblitt is directing traffic to this website via Gaston County’s School website for Hunter Huss. Some future ideas may include chat rooms, message boards, monthly online reunions, enhanced personal information possibilities, surveys, web page links, and more. Enhancement time frames are subject to my our personal schedules as well as development funding. Please use the site responsibly at all times, and feel free to e-mail any enhancement ideas that you have.

Can you help me locate an alumnus?
Sorry, but no. This page is maintained on a volunteer basis and we lack the time to search for people. This site was designed with the purpose of the alumni finding it. You can do your part by passing the word that it is available at your reunions and whenever you see a classmate. Try www.ussearch.com or a general Internet search if you are looking for someone in particular. You might also try the “links” section here.

When is my class reunion?
Customarily, reunions are held in 5-year increments. If your reunion is approaching and you have not heard anything about it, you should contact people in your class concerning it. Check this page often, as well. Much reunion information does come in at “the last minute.” Most typically, reunions happen in the summer or early fall. See the next question.

Whose responsibility is it to organize my class reunion?
Your Class President or their designee(s) bear(s) the responsibility. The high school will very likely NOT have any information concerning your reunion, and they do not organize them. If your Class President is not organizing a reunion, anyone else may do so. In this case, you should let the President know so he/she can appropriately direct inquiries. If you do not know who your Class President is, check your yearbook under “class officers.”

Must I have actually graduated from Hunter Huss to contribute to this site?
Although it would be most helpful since this site is all about Hunter Huss High School - but in a nutshell; No. If you attended any year of school at Hunter Huss or its feeder schools, you may sign up for the class to which you are associated.

Can I arrange a high school tour for a reunion?
Typically, yes. Contact the high school about this.

How can I help make this Web Site better?
Well, you can suggest ideas by e-mailing the webmaster or if you’re really dedicated and have some Web skills you could volunteer to assist with the creation of new Web services! As the page is maintained voluntarily (and even for fun!). If you desire to contribute financially to our efforts, please contact the site administrator via the contact form, and someone will provide you with additional information or specific development needs. However, if you have a PayPal account, you can initiate contributions to the site using the following link.
